Terms of service

Last updated 7 November 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Arjun Raj, trading as Digital Architect ("OptProof", "we"), a sole proprietorship with GSTIN 29DOHPR6992Q1ZH and its principal place of business at No 2 & 03, Ashrivadam, Opposite 5th Cross, Sidedahalli, near NMH Convention Hall, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka 560073, India, when your business uses OptProof. We have tried to write them in plain language. If something is unclear, write to hello@optproof.in.

1. Who these terms are for#

OptProof is a service for businesses. You can use it if you are acting for a business, a professional practice, a non-profit or another organisation, and you have the authority to accept these terms for it. In these terms, "you" means that organisation.

2. What OptProof does#

OptProof helps you collect consent, show notices, keep a tamper-evident record of each decision with a signed receipt, handle requests from the people whose data you hold, and send consent changes to your other tools.

OptProof is a tool you use. It does not make your business's decisions about personal data, and it is not legal advice. OptProof is not a Consent Manager under Rule 4 of the DPDP Rules. You remain responsible for your notices, your purposes and how you use personal data.

3. Your account#

  • Keep sign-in details and API secret keys private. Secret keys are shown once; store them safely.
  • Workspace owners must use two-factor authentication.
  • You are responsible for what people in your workspace do with it. Give each person the smallest role they need.
  • Tell us straight away at security@optproof.in if you think your account or keys have been misused.

4. Acceptable use#

You must not use OptProof to:

  • collect consent through misleading notices, pre-ticked boxes or designs that make refusing or withdrawing harder than agreeing
  • record consent that a person did not actually give, or import consent lists you have no evidence for without marking them as imported
  • send unlawful messages, or contact people who have withdrawn consent
  • break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harm the service or other customers
  • probe, scan or load-test OptProof without our written permission (security researchers: see our security page)

We may suspend access that puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

5. Plans, billing and GST#

  • Prices are in Indian rupees and shown on our pricing page. GST is added where it applies.
  • All plans are paid. They are billed annually, in advance. Until online payments are switched on, we send you an invoice and you pay by bank transfer; once they are, you can also pay through Razorpay. There is no free plan and no monthly plan. Prices exclude GST, which is added to the invoice.
  • When you create a workspace you choose a plan. Until that plan is paid, the workspace works with test keys only; live keys and live consent capture become available once it is paid.
  • Each plan covers a set number of websites or apps. Extra websites or apps, and consents above the yearly limit, are billed as add-ons at the prices on our pricing page.
  • You can change or cancel your plan at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period is not refunded unless the law requires it.
  • If a payment fails or a plan is not renewed, we will remind you. Recording consents and withdrawals, accepting rights requests, issuing receipts and verification never stop because of a missed payment.

6. Limits and usage#

Each plan has limits, such as the number of websites or apps and consents per year.

Consents over your plan's limit are always recorded. We never drop, reject or delay a consent, a withdrawal or a rights request because you are over a limit. We will tell you when you reach 80% of a limit and when you go over it, and suggest a plan that fits.

7. Your data#

  • You own the data you put into OptProof, including the consent records about your customers.
  • For that data, you are the data fiduciary and we are your data processor. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms and explains how we handle it.
  • You can export your consent log, notices, request history and chain verification at any time on plans that include the evidence export, and on every plan when you leave.
  • The consent ledger is append-only by design. Corrections are recorded as new events, not edits. This is what makes the records verifiable.

8. Our data#

For data about you as our customer, such as your account and billing details, we are the data fiduciary. Our privacy notice explains how we use it.

9. Availability and changes#

We work to keep OptProof available and fast, and we publish planned maintenance in advance. We do not promise uninterrupted service. OptProof currently runs on a single server, so a fault or maintenance can make it unavailable until it is restored. Uptime figures on our pricing page are targets, not a service-level commitment.

We improve OptProof often. If we remove a feature you rely on or make a change that reduces what your plan includes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice.

10. Templates and guidance#

OptProof includes notice templates, industry purpose lists and guidance written in plain language. They are a starting point. Review them, ideally with your own legal adviser, before you publish anything.

11. Liability#

Neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you under these terms in any 12 months is limited to an amount still to be set before launch. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Ending the agreement#

You can close your workspace at any time. We may end the agreement if you seriously breach these terms and do not fix it within 30 days of our notice. When the agreement ends, you can export your data for 30 days, after which we delete it, except where the law requires us to keep it.

13. Changes to these terms#

If we change these terms, we will update this page and tell workspace owners by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect.

14. Law and disputes#

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts of a city still to be confirmed.

15. Contact#

Questions about these terms: hello@optproof.in.
